PRESS RELEASE: Seek North Debuts Adaptogenic Kombucha, Seek Vitality

December 1, 2020

New York-based premium kombucha company Seek North has already made a name for itself in the kombucha market. And now, at a time when many are unsure how to adapt to these new conditions, co-founders Philippe Trinh and Julian Lesser are releasing a new beverage that will be available to health-conscious consumers throughout the Northeast this December.

Seek Vitality will be the company’s first adaptogenic offering, featuring holy basil and blue spirulina. This herb and superfood pairing comes with a wide array of potential health benefits. These health considerations are a key factor for many, as COVID-19 remains a pressing concern while winter and the flu season approach.

This new flavor is well suited for the COVID era, which demonstrates a commitment to identifying and responding to customer needs that Seek North is proud of. While many companies debut new flavors regularly, the benefits of Seek Vitality are designed to meet the current moment—this specialized recipe may well make it the best kombucha for conquering 2020 and welcoming the new year.

Seek Vitality- The teal blue elixir will grace shelves next to our colorful line up of a dense purple Seek Clarity of blueberry, pomegranate and lemon, a vibrant yellow Seek Immunity imbued with elderflower and pineapple, and a radiant red Seek Harmony of tart hibiscus and snappy ginger. This will be the first adaptogenic kombucha in our current assortment.

To round out the beverage and add a tropical zing, Seek North included fresh pressed ginger and organic white grape juice in Seek Vitality. These ingredients complement the holy basil’s citrusy and subtly clove-like taste and the rich, earthy flavor of the blue spirulina. This makes for a flavor profile as unique and noteworthy as its neon-blue hue.

Holy basil is an adaptogen, a type of plant that is used medicinally to stabilize the body, facilitate natural physiological functioning, and help the body resist and overcome stress.   It also carries with it beneficial minerals such as calcium, zinc and iron.  “This is a huge boon for anybody looking for a more functional kombucha, especially with winter upon us. This is the season where people tend to get worn-out, stressed, or tired more quickly,” explains Trinh.

Blue spirulina is just as versatile an ingredient. This superfood gives Seek Vitality its signature blue-teal color and unique hue. It diversifies Seek North’s already-colorful lineup, which consists of yellow, red, and purple beverages in addition to the new Seek Vitality.

Blue spirulina’s inclusion in the beverage isn’t just for aesthetic purposes. “Blue spirulina is chock-full of nutrients and is a great source of antioxidants,” says Lesser. “Much like holy basil, blue spirulina is also known for giving invigorating energy boosts. This amazing algae is dense with protein, vitamin B, manganese, and iron, making it very well-rounded nutritionally.  The combination of holy basil and blue spirulina makes this ‘booch particularly effective when it comes to vitality.”

Like the other Seek North flavors, Vitality is alcohol-extracted, certified organic and certified kosher, and 100% raw, all-natural, and undiluted.
