Kombucha Bourbon Sour

A New Twist To Your Favorite Classic

The Whiskey Sour is a classic bourbon cocktail that is subtly sour and sweet. Adding our probiotic rich kombucha is a great alternative for something that is low in sugar and calories.

According to Brian Petro of The Alcohol Professor, “Vice Admiral Edward Vernon of England began mixing a few ingredients together to serve to his crew,” to help combat sea-sickness, malnutrition, and scurvy. Since they didn’t want an entire ship of intoxicated sailors, they began to water it down with lemon juice. While the British used Gin and Brandy, Americans favored Whiskey, and thus the Whiskey Sour was born. Read more here.

KOMBUCHA BOURBON SOUR

  1. Muddle 1 medium slice of peeled ginger in a shaker

  2. Add 2 ounces bourbon along with, 1/2 ounce of fresh lemon juice and 1/4 ounce maple syrup (or agave)

  3. 1/2 tsp of St Germain Elderflower liquer

  4. Add ice and shake

  5. Strain into glass

  6. Add 1 large ice cube

  7. Add 3 ounces of Seek North PIneapple Elderflower Kombucha & stir lightly

  8. Garnish with a fresh slice of Ginger or lemon bitters and serve

*Adding egg white to this classic creates what’s known as a Boston Sour.

KOMBUCHA BOSTON SOUR

  1. Muddle 1 medium slice of peeled ginger in a shaker

  2. Add 2 ounces bourbon along with, 1/2 ounce of fresh lemon juice and 1/4 ounce maple syrup

  3. Add a pinch of cayenne pepper

  4. Add ice & .25 oz egg white and shake

  5. . Strain into glass

  6. Ad 1 large ice cube

  7. Add 3 ounces of Seek North Pineapple Elderflower Kombucha & stir lightly

  8. Garnish with a fresh slice of Ginger and serve
